Artist's Comments
This painting was done in my Color Composition class. The assignment was to choose a master painting, cut it in half, and then recreate the other half, only changing some small detail. I chose "One" by Alex Grey. I painted the face in my half as a female, instead of his original identical male, giving the painting a romantic quality. My instructor insisted that I crop in and not paint the entire original sized image for my own sanity.

 Excellent piece! Alex grey is indeed my favorite visionary artist of our day. I am currently reading a great book by him titled "The Mission of Art". I came upon it at a borders while browsing through the Metaphysical section (surprisingly). I do reccomend it.
